Grim Tidings and the Struggles They Bring
Posting via my blog, because posting this direct on FB doesn't feel right. Blogger isn't being easy on me to hide the text I wanted to hide, so this intro piece will have to serve as a CN/TW for talk of end of life issues. (No shame in that. The world in general is extra hard right now, and we need to take care of ourselves.) Talked to the hospice nurse yesterday evening. She told me that mom is imminent, and when asked if I should come down immediately, she said yes. We packed up and headed out last night, after having dinner. Got to the hotel a little after 1am, checked in, set up the room, and crashed out. Got up this morning, got ready, had food, and then headed to the care home mom’s at. She…she’s not long for this world. She looks exactly like I expected her to look, given what I was told over the last few weeks and yesterday.
